Miya
フルート奏者・音楽家。ジャズ→即興→生楽器＋電子音楽。
ものごとや世界の境界に存在する中間的な空間を探検し、
生命の息吹と情報的身体の拡張で神聖な音の場を生み出す人。
日本人の父とイギリス人の母の間に生まれ、東京を拠点にヨーロッパ、アジアなど国際的に活動。
山下洋輔をプロデューサーに迎えた「Miya's Book」などこれまでに4枚のアルバムをリリース。
2015年、植村昌弘（ds）、ナスノミツル（b）らと山下洋輔をフィーチャーしたユニット
「Axis Mundi」を始動した。2010年にロンドンにて作曲をJonathan Cole 氏に学ぶとともに、
ロンドンを中心にヨーロッパの即興シーンで活動し、
各地でのインプロバイザーズオーケストラに参加した経験を元に、
日本で本格的な即興オーケストラの立ち上げに関わり指揮した。
そこから派生した「Benedict/Miya＋７Maestoros」によるライブアルバムを2018年に発売。
書道家・白石雪妃とのユニット「直書観音」など ジャンルを超えた、
アートとの連携にも力を入れており、
写真家、ダンサー、美術家、ヨーガ講師など共演は多岐にわたる。
2019年より音づくりにエフェクタやシンセサイザーなどの電子的なアプローチを取り入れ、
瀬戸内国際芸術祭にも参加、活動の場をノイズ即興などにも広げている。
2016年 福島県南相馬市江井地区に伝わる民俗神楽の復興を手がけ、
2018年より一噌幸弘に能管を師事する。
その後、雅楽にも取り組み、龍笛、大和笛も演奏。
2021年 江井神楽の神楽師 [ 宝玉宮雪 ] としての活動を開始。
Flute player, Improviser, Composer, Tokyo based musician,
Miya performs widely from Asia to Europe.
She was involved in starting up the Tokyo Improvisers Orchestra in 2011.
She has lead conduction and improvisation workshops throughout Japan.
As a Jazz musician she collaborates with top players in Japan’s music scene including
Yosuke YAMASHITA and Akira SAKATA.
Her latest album is [Miya/Benedict with 7 Maestros live in Pit inn].,
a conduction album inviting Benedict Taylor from UK,
collaborating with 7 of Japan’s top improvisers.
In 2018 she started studying with Yukihiro ISSO (Noh Flute) and has been working on
traditional Kagura music that has vanished in the years.
From 2019 she has been using effects on flute and has collaborated with
top noise / improv musicians such as doravideo and Tadahiko YOKOGAWA.
Her work extends to collaboration with other forms of art, including dance,
calligraphy, poetry, photo, fashion and so on.
In 2019 she performed in Setouchi Triennale amongst leading modular artists
with flute and effects and is opening up new possibilities of flute expressions.
